Rockabilly's reign at the top of the charts was short lived, but its significance cannot be over stated. At a time when the teenagers began to demand more than "How Much is that Doggie (In the Window)", rockabilly delivered. It pushed boring music from the charts and made way for rock and roll. And rock and roll has yet to relinquish control of the pop charts.
