Love That Karaoke!

The Smithsonian is known to hold treasures from history and its musical treasures are indeed some of the most relevant to music history. Luckily for those within Minnesota, Mississippi, New Jersey, Ohio and South Carolina, the Smithsonian is bringing a musical history tour called New Harmonies to those areas.

Look at that royal smile!

Queen Elizabeth II turned 85 on Thursday and we have to say, she looks great!

Her birthday also landed on Maundy Thursday, which celebrates the Last Supper.

As a tradition, the Queen passes out special coins to the same number of men and women as her age. 85 lucky men and 85 lucky women were given these special coins at a ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

The celebration was also said to be a dry run for the royal wedding, which is coming up next week!

Speaking of which…

Be sure to watch Perez as he hosts "Will + Kate Forever," the only royal wedding special worth seeing, airing Friday, April 29th at 7pm/6c on Wedding Central and also at 9pm/8c on WE tv.

Arts and Entertainment:Music from EzineArticles.com

Getting cheap electric guitars is not really such a bad thing, as hopefully this short article will confirm. A few years ago my little brother used to play in a pretty decent local band. This was around the time of so-called 'Brit Pop' and some his band mates have gone on to bigger and better things. Of course, I went to see him quite a few times and being the aggressive guitarist that he was, he was forever breaking strings and dropping picks (to the point now where he tends to use only finger techniques).

Choosing The Right Software To Make Your Own Beats

Rockabilly music represented change. It was just one aspect of a rapidly changing world. Post World-War II America as a whole was changing more quickly than it ever had before. The soldiers were home and money was freed up from the war effort to be directed once again into consumer production. And as is usually the case, the war had spurred invention and innovation. As a result, consumers were using many more household gadgets, not the least of them, the television. And this surge in the adoption of the TV in American homes gave rockabilly artists a promotional tool that had never been exploited to such a great extent before.

Donald Trump Fires Gary Busey From Celebrity Apprentice

During last night’s episode of Celebrity Apprentice, Donald Trump fired actor Gary Busey after the men′s team, Backbone lost another challenge. Busey was the team’s Project Manager and was largely responsible for the loss. During a contentious board room meeting, Meatloaf, Lil John and John Rich all blamed Busey for being disorganized and were all frustrated by his crazy antics. The ladies’ team, ASAP, won the Omaha Steak challenge with former Playboy playmate Hope Dworaczyk leading as PM, enjoying a victory with her team of LaToya Jackson, Marlee Matlin, Nene Leakes and Star Jones. Gary Busey, pictured above, was fired last night during Celebrity Apprentice by Donald Trump. Image Credit: Adriana M. Barraza/WENN.com Gary Busey took the firing in good fashion and even added his trademark crazy-spin to it. Upon driving off in the back of the car, Gary said “I can turn a thunderstorm and a tornado into a rainbow and I′m flying over a rainbow tonight. Who knows? That could be true.” Yeah, right, Gary! You certainly are flying over a rainbow! The series had begun with the men′s team, Backbone, defeating the women repeatedly. ASAP had many personality conflicts and lost several challenges in a row. Play Blues Guitar: Important Aspects of Learning Blues Guitar

Since the dissolution of The Beatles in 1970, Paul McCartney has gone on to release over 40 or so albums either under his name alone, under various pseudonyms or with his band Wings. It would have been nigh on impossible for any of the solo Beatles to come close to the unprecedented quality and success of the band, but all in their own ways made significant contributions to the pop canon, none more so than Paul.

Can a Mastering Studio Make a Bad Recording Sound Great?

Produced by Mitchell Froom, who also worked with Elvis Costello, Suzanne Vega and Randy Newman, the Crowded House Woodface album is to many of the bands followers their zenith as a recording unit. Released in July 1991, many of the songs included on it were originally intended for a Finn Brothers solo venture, until Neil asked Tim if he could use their co writes on the upcoming Crowded House project. Tim responded, allegedly with tongue in cheek, that he would agree only if he could join the band.

Collecting Punk Memorabilia

Life would be utterly boring without music, and music would be impossible without the right instruments and equipment. Music is so incorporated in people's lives that it determines the mood and attitude of a person towards life. History suggests that songs have actually changed lives of some people and in rare occasions the belief of a nation.

Electro Acoustic Guitars

The original 22 steps on how to do the electric slide were created by its choreographer, Ric Silver, in 1976. It's not very complicated but a lot of simplified steps are now being taught if you try searching for other dance websites. The electric slide is quite famous in many countries. This is probably because the steps on how to do the electric slide dance are fairly easy to remember and don't hinder our enthusiasm to continually learn while enjoying it at the same time.

Last night David and I hung out with a group of friends last night that included Cara — who we hadn’t hung out with in ages — and Shane & Jordan, who we always make sure to spend time with when we’re in the city. We convened for dinner at The Smith in the East Village and then made our way to Splash Bar for Musical Monday. We had a blast, primarily because we were in such great company.

Cara is my girl who I’ve known for years but we realized that it had been FAR too long since we hung out together here in the city. Last night was our chance to remedy the fact that we hadn’t seen one another in a while and we picked up as if no time had passed. Shane is one of David’s BFFs so we always make sure to spend time with him here in the city … and randomly, we always run into Jordan here in NYC when we happen to be here. I have to tell you, I am a very lucky person. I know the coolest people in the world and I feel so blessed to count them as friends. That Cara and I can pick up after a few years as if no time has passed is just so wonderful. And there are few people in the world that make me as happy as Jordan does. We ate, we drank and were very merry here last night so … it was a very good night.

Tonight, David and I will be seeing Catch Me If You Can on Broadway. Catch Me stars Kerry Butler, who I met when she was starring in Xanadu and LOVED in Rock of Ages. I am very excited to see her in this new show. It’s supposed to be rainy tonight but I don’t think anything can dampen my spirits today. Happy Tuesday, y’all!!

Five Essential Paul McCartney Albums You Should Have

Could someone within the realm of pop music sing the telephone directory and make a successful career out of it? I feel that ludicrous statement could be applied to the wonderful English rock/pop vocalist Paul Carrack who, over a varied career spanning 30 years or more, has proved himself to be an outstandingly gifted singer (and no mean songwriter). As a solo artist or in bands such as Ace, Squeeze and Mike and The Mechanics, he's applied a meticulously crafted, spine-tingling delivery to practically everything he's worked on.

thomas dekker opens up about open sexuality

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles fans of all genders, rejoice! When it comes to relationships, Thomas Dekker is open to anything.

The Terminator: TSCC/Heroes/Nightmare on Elm Street actor opened up about his sexuality during a recent interview and had the following to say about it:

"I've only really had relationships with women, but I'm certainly not closed to it. If there are possibilities of being able to do anything in life, why would you say you would never take any up?"

"In the later chunk of my teen years I was so all over the place with sex. It was terrible. I never really had a real relationship at all. During puberty, it's all about sex, and it's all about figuring yourself out. I think I overdid it when I was younger."

So there you have it, folks! Thomas Dekker is officially an equal opportunity free agent!

prince-william-cant-see-the-dress-before-the-wedding.jpg

Isn't that how it works for all grooms? There's that old saying that you can't see the bride in her wedding dress until the actual wedding or its bad luck. So, why should the future King of England be the exception to the rule???

According to palace officials, Prince William and his brother, Harry, will not be two of the nearly two billion TV watchers poised to watch Kate Middleton journey from the Goring Hotel to Westminster Abbey on their wedding day. When the procession starts, William and Harry will be taken away for a few minutes of peace in a tiny chapel on the grounds, away from all the hoopla and spectacle. It'll be the quietest moment of the last few months for him, we imagine.

As for Kate, her long ride through London will have her passing by thousands of spectators who will be lining the street on April 29th. As Kate wishes to keep the name of her designer a secret, mostly from her soon-to-be husband, it won't be until she arrives at the Abbey that the world will learn who is behind arguably the most anticipated piece of fashion to date.

Someone cue up Carly Simon! We're having trouble with all this keeping us waaaaaaaiting!

Kids Choice Awards Spectacles

Over the years, the Academy Awards have some to carry significant influence throughout the film industry - often, simply being nominated for an award boosts profits for both studios and performers. For that reason, studios dedicate massive amounts of funding each year to marketing and public relations campaigns that they hope will earn them more votes, in spite of the Academy's efforts to stifle the impact of such promotional efforts among its voters.

The Craft of Songwriting

After 60 years or so of rock and roll history, there have certainly been several true sensations. The Beatles of course spring immediately to mind. The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, U2, and the list goes on. But Elvis was the original rock and roll sensation and remains the greatest of all. And that is rockabilly music's greatest claim to fame.
